Finnish Trade Official Criticizes U.S. Tariff Hypocrisy on July 27

According to Timo Vorri, director of international trade policy at the Confederation of Finnish Industries, on July 27, the U.S. applied tariffs against other economies citing "forced labor" while failing to fully meet its own obligations under International Labour Organization frameworks, revealing double standards.

Vorri noted that the Trump administration invoked a 1970s law to justify unilateral tariff increases. The policy poses significant challenges to Finland's steel and pharmaceutical sectors and adds uncertainty to global trade relations and business operations.
