Dash 在2024年推出了進化鏈，作為一個側鏈，供開發者建立由 Dash 支持但不限於基本支付的應用。原始鏈依賴 CoinJoin，通過 PrivateSend 向用戶展示，將多個用戶的交易混合在一起，增加追蹤單一交易路徑的難度。
然而，在進化鏈上，這些隱私功能不存在，所有交易都是透明的。這種做法讓原本用於增強隱私的核心 Dash 用戶感到疏離。Dash 已透露，這一情況將隨著基於 Zcash Orchard 技術的盾牌信用池的引入而改變。

Orchard 於2022年推出，建立在 Halo 2 密碼系統之上，是 Zcash 的隱私引擎，依賴零知識證明將資金呈現為鏈上加密的記錄。
為了整合 Zcash 技術，Dash 團隊必須克服將其混合的 PoW/PoS 共識與 Zcash 的工作量證明系統（雖然，如我們所報導，如果由 Vitalik Buterin 支持的 Shielded Labs 有其打算，Zcash 可能會轉向 PoS）融合的挑戰。
Dash 上的盾牌代幣
一旦基於 Orchard 技術的盾牌信用池上線，Dash 團隊將開始開發盾牌代幣。這些代幣的功能類似於 Zcash 上的 Shielded Assets，其餘額和交易都通過零知識證明對外隱藏。然而，盾牌代幣將具有更廣泛的功能，並將存在於獨立的盾牌池中，而非 Zcash 的統一盾牌資產池。
