S&P 500 Eases Near Flat as Semiconductor Weakness Offsets Oil Rally; Dow Up 0.35%

On Monday morning at about 11:25 a.m. ET, the S&P 500 eased near 7,409.63, almost unchanged for the session after climbing as high as 7,480.57 at market open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average held onto a modest gain of about 0.35% at 52,133.20, while the Nasdaq Composite fell roughly 0.6%, as weakness in semiconductor stocks pulled broader indexes back.

The early rally faded after investors returned attention to chip competition and AI spending pressures. Nvidia fell about 3.9% and Micron dropped more than 6% following the strong Shanghai debut of Chinese memory-chip producer CXMT. Oil prices fell more than 5%, with bond yields also easing as the 10-year Treasury yield declined to about 4.65% from 4.69% late Friday.
