According to Guru Club, Meta suspended its AI image generation feature early this week after facing criticism over portrait rights and criminal risks. The function, which allowed users to reference public Instagram accounts via @mentions to generate images, was set to allow public content citation by default. The move prompted backlash from the Screen Actors Guild and other organizations, who cited potential infringement concerns. Meta said it received user feedback indicating the feature did not meet expectations and decided to take it offline.
