KCC's annual electrolytic copper output stands at approximately 190,000 tons. Should the seizure persist and materially disrupt production or product shipments, Congo's copper and cobalt supply could face near-term disruptions.
Separately, Qatar's political delegation arrived in Iran on July 10 to mediate tensions, per Reuters and Tasnim News Agency, coordinating with U.S. efforts. U.S. President Trump stated Iran has requested negotiations, which the U.S. has accepted, but emphasized the ceasefire has ended. Additionally, the USDA reported private exporters sold 264,000 tons of soybeans to China for delivery in the 2026/2027 crop year.
