Base releases its 2026 strategy: focusing on global markets, stablecoin payments, and building the builder ecosystem

Gate News message: On April 1, Base released its 2026 mission, vision, and strategy, focusing on three major directions: building a global market, upgrading the on-chain market infrastructure, and supporting the tokenization of any assets and 24/7 trading—covering stocks, commodities, prediction markets, perpetual contracts, and more—while creating Base App as the entry point for 24/7 trading of millions of assets; expanding payments and stablecoins, upgrading features such as privacy primitives, local account abstraction, and using stablecoins to pay gas fees, and building the most liquid stablecoin market so that Base App becomes the most convenient platform for saving, spending, and payments; becoming a home for builders, providing native intelligent account support for AI Agents, supporting teams through programs such as Base Batches and a developers’ committee, and launching mechanisms such as ERC-8021 to incentivize participants and increase user engagement and trading volume.
