U.S. Treasury Yields Hit 4.6% on Fed Rate Hike Bets, Nasdaq 100 Falls 1.9%

In latest trading, U.S. 10-year Treasury yields climbed 5.2 basis points to 4.6156%, while 2-year yields rose 7 basis points to 4.2773%. The Nasdaq 100 index fell 1.9% to session lows, the S&P 500 declined 0.8%, and semiconductor stocks dropped roughly 5%. The market moves follow remarks from Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller, who said the FOMC may need to consider raising rates soon to combat core inflation.
