U.S. Housing Starts Rise 19% to 1.427M in June, Beating Expectations

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of Housing and Urban Development on June 17, new housing starts in June reached 1.427 million on an annualized basis, up 19% from 1.199 million in May and beating market expectations of 1.31 million. Year-over-year, June starts increased 3.5% compared to 1.379 million in the prior year.
