U.S. Confirms 1,645 Cyclospora Cases Across 34 States, Surpassing 2019 Record

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of July 14, the United States confirmed 1,645 domestic Cyclospora infections across 34 states since May 1, exceeding the 2019 record. Over 5,100 additional cases are pending confirmation. Preliminary investigation in Michigan, the state with the most cases, suggests contaminated lettuce or salad may be the source. Approximately 141 people have been hospitalized; no deaths have been reported.
