Undervalued Stocks Surge to 60.39% of KOSPI/KOSDAQ Market as Chip Selloff Intensifies

According to Korea Exchange, 1,520 of 2,517 listed companies on KOSPI and KOSDAQ showed price-to-book ratios (PBR) below 1x as of July 27, representing 60.39% of the market. The proportion of undervalued stocks has surged 14.13 percentage points since late April, when it stood at 46.26%. The sharp rise reflects a market correction driven by weakness in bellwether semiconductor stocks like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, which pulled broader indices lower amid concentrated leadership.
