Tether Launches USDT on Bitcoin Network via RGB Protocol in July

According to Bitcoin Magazine, Tether is launching USDT on the Bitcoin network via the RGB protocol as early as July 2026, in partnership with software firm Utexo. The Bitcoin-based USDT will support instant swaps with BTC via the Lightning Network, with Tether Wallet and several exchanges planning to support the new asset. This marks USDT's return to the Bitcoin network, where it was originally launched via Omni-Mastercoin in 2014.
