Lower-Income Wage Growth Reaches 4.1% in June, Narrowing Income Divide to Lowest in Years

According to Bank of America Institute, lower-income households saw after-tax wage growth accelerate to 4.1% in June, up from 2.9% in May—the narrowest gap with middle-income (3.4%) and higher-income (4.2%) households in years. Separately, PNC reports the spending gap between lower- and higher-income households is at its smallest in three years, with the gap excluding gasoline spending narrowing even further.
