According to Yonhap Infomax, a consortium of Krafton and Future Asset acquired E-mart's headquarters property in Seoul's Seongsu-dong district on January 2022 for 1.22 trillion Korean won. E-mart, having sold the real estate to finance its 3.44 trillion won acquisition of eBay Korea's 80.1% stake in June 2021, secured tenant rights to re-occupy space in the redeveloped building.
The new landmark office will be designed by renowned architect David Chipperfield and constructed by Samsung C&T, targeting completion in November 2027. The building will comprise 17 above-ground floors and 8 basement levels. E-mart's gain on the transaction reached 1.0809 trillion won, surpassing its standalone net profit for 2022.
