Joint Maritime Information Center: Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is almost completely halted

PANews March 6 Report: According to Jintou, shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has almost come to a complete halt, with the volume dropping to the lowest level since the critical waterway was effectively closed over the weekend. The Joint Maritime Information Center released a report on March 6 stating that recent assessments of navigation signals in the strait indicate the number of ships passing through has fallen to single digits, with only two confirmed commercial transits observed in the past 24 hours. According to this multinational maritime advisory organization focused on the Middle East, these transits involve cargo ships rather than oil tankers.
