Dekon Livestock Wins National Science and Technology Progress Award First Class Prize for Breeding Innovation

DEKON AGR-1.51%
According to the Academy of Sciences breeding team led by Academician Huang Lusheng, Dekon Livestock (02419) and 27 other research institutions jointly completed the project "Huaxe Swine Breeding Technology and Core Germplasm Creation and Application," which was awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Award First Class Prize in 2025. This marks the first time China's pig breeding sector has clinched this honor and is the sole first-class award in agriculture this cycle. The team developed an independently controlled breeding chip, improving breeding efficiency by 22% and reducing genomic breeding costs significantly. Dekon achieved full-genome detection coverage across all breeding lines, increasing litter size by approximately 0.2 piglets annually and reducing slaughter age by one day yearly. The company has promoted Huaxe swine varieties across 20 provinces through its "company plus family farm" model. In December 2025, Dekon launched "Deyun," an indigenous breeding intelligence platform integrating 400,000 growth performance data points and over 5 million breeding records.
