Canadian Wildfire Smoke May Affect 2026 FIFA World Cup Final in New Jersey on July 19

According to the EU Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service on July 17, smoke from Canada's ongoing wildfires is degrading air quality across eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. The smoke could reach New Jersey, where the FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for July 19. The atmospheric plume may also drift across the North Atlantic toward Europe.
