GateNews

Gate News message, April 20 — TNG Digital has partnered with Malaysian convenience store chain KK Mart to enable migrant workers to receive salaries through the e-wallet, targeting workers who face barriers to opening traditional bank accounts.

TNG eWallet has been approved by Peninsular Malaysia’s Department of Labour as a salary account provider and processed payments for over 160,000 migrant workers in 2025. KK Mart is among the first major retailers in the country to roll out e-wallet salary payments at scale.

Workers receive wages in real time and can use the funds for purchases and transfers through DuitNow without a traditional bank account. The service includes remittance capabilities to over 50 countries and a Visa card for ATM cash withdrawals. TNG Digital estimates approximately 45% of Malaysia’s migrant workers cannot open a bank account.
