On February 15, Jins Data reported that on February 15 local time, German Chancellor Schultz delivered a speech at the Munich Security Conference, explicitly stating that he does not accept US interference in the German elections. He said, ‘Our democracy, our elections, and the way we form our government should not be interfered with by external forces.’ The day before, US Vice President Pence openly criticized the German government for defying public opinion at the Munich Security Conference and met with the leader of the German Free Democratic Party, Weidel. Regarding the issue of Ukraine, Schultz stated that Germany will continue to support Ukraine at the current level, and he believes that the new German government after the election will also adhere to this policy. On the issue of increasing military spending, Schultz suggested adding a temporary exception clause to the EU Financial Stability Pact, allowing EU member states to increase defense spending while maintaining financial stability.
