Gate News reports that on March 28, according to vessel tracking data, two more oil tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas, flying the Indian flag, departed the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz (a crucial global energy transportation route) heading to India. The BW Tyr and BW Elm tankers, fully loaded with liquefied petroleum gas, were last recorded passing the northern tip of the Oman Peninsula. Throughout their voyage, both vessels used transponders to signal their Indian ownership and Indian crew, which is a standard safety measure. Background information indicates that India is heavily dependent on importing liquefied petroleum gas from the Persian Gulf and is currently experiencing a severe shortage of this fuel.
