US Sanctions Action Freezes $344M in Iran-Linked USDT

US authorities and Tether froze $344 million in USDT across two addresses that a US official linked to Iran. The official said the wallets interacted with Iranian exchanges and Central Bank of Iran wallets, and Tether said OFAC coordinated the action with several US agencies. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the sanctions move is part of a broader effort to cut off Tehran’s financial channels while diplomacy to end the war remains stalled.
