For many countries, currency devaluation is a serious issue, but if stable devaluation expectations form, the problem isn't too big.

People with some money in hand simply exchange it for US dollars, gold, or Bitcoin, leaving a small amount in the local currency to buy a bottle of water or a pack of cigarettes for pocket money, which doesn't affect their daily life at all.
Argentine civil servants do exactly that—once they get their salary, the first thing they do is quickly exchange it for US dollars, then immediately pay all their expenses, and then go to the supermarket to stock up wildly.
Now many supermarkets accept US dollars directly; they used to do it secretly, but now they do it openly.
Some private companies even directly pay salaries in US dollars; companies that can pay in dollars are considered to be powerful and reputable locally.
