WGC: Gold Market Shifts from Western Dominance to Multi-Polar System as Asian Demand, Central Banks Drive Unprecedented Support

According to Juan Carlos Artigas, global research head at the World Gold Council, the gold market is undergoing a historic structural shift. Artigas attributed the sharp price volatility seen from early 2026 onwards to multiple macroeconomic drivers alternating in dominance. He noted that Asian investors, particularly from China, alongside major central banks, are demonstrating unprecedented support for the precious metal. The market is transitioning from an era of Western-dominated pricing toward a more globally diversified, multi-polar pricing system.
