According to Beating's monitoring, the open letter on open-weight models and U.S. AI leadership—originally signed by 25 companies including Nvidia, Microsoft, and Meta—has expanded to 77 signatories. SpaceX has formally joined the list, following Elon Musk's earlier endorsement of the initiative on X.

Anthropnic remains absent from the signatories. The letter calls on the U.S. government to avoid prematurely restricting downloadable and self-deployed open-weight models, distinguishing legitimate model distillation from illegal extraction.
