According to Uniswap's official governance forum, the protocol is discussing an RFC that would add an optional private execution path to the Uniswap interface. The proposal, submitted by SilentSwap, aims to reduce how much transaction information is exposed before a swap is executed.
The suggested architecture uses Uniswap v4 hooks and UniswapX, combined with zk-SNARKs and pre-execution compliance screening to process trades more privately. Standard swaps would remain unchanged, and pool fees would not be affected. The feature addresses a core DeFi problem: on-chain transaction transparency can leak user intent before execution, enabling bots and sophisticated traders to front-run or sandwich ordinary users. The RFC is still under community discussion and has not been approved or implemented.
