Strong Convective Weather Kills 8, Leaves 1 Missing in Eastern Hubei on July 6

According to Hubei Emergency Management Department, strong convective weather struck multiple areas in eastern Hubei on the evening of July 6. Between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., thunderstorms and high winds affected Huangshi, Huanggang, Ezhou, and Xianning, with 53 townships experiencing wind speeds of 8 to 13 levels; 2 townships reached level 13, and tornadoes were reported in some areas.

As of 11 p.m. on July 6, the weather event has killed 8 people and left 1 missing. Rescue operations are underway as authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
