South Korea's President Lee Jae-myung Calls for Expanded U.S. Investment in Tech and Startups on July 26

According to Yonhap News, South Korea's President Lee Jae-myung called on July 26 for expanded Korea-U.S. cooperation beyond security alliances to include technology, innovation, and startups. He emphasized that combining American venture capital capabilities and global networks with South Korea's advanced technology and manufacturing competitiveness would create new global innovation companies. Lee urged U.S. venture investors to strengthen cooperation and increase investment in South Korea.

To support these goals, Lee pledged to reform South Korea's visa system to attract overseas entrepreneurial talent and establish collaboration frameworks between domestic and international enterprises, research institutions, and investors. He also committed to linking government and privately-managed funds to help South Korean startups develop into globally competitive companies.
