South Korea's FSC Suspends New Leverage ETF Listings, Raises Minimum Deposit to 3M Won on August 5

According to BlockBeats, South Korea's Financial Services Commission announced on July 16 that it would temporarily suspend new single-stock leverage ETF listing applications. Beginning August 5, the minimum cash deposit requirement for investors trading domestic and foreign single-stock leverage products will increase from 10 million won to 30 million won, with stricter advance payment verification rules. The measures come as retail margin lending reached approximately 34.37 trillion won ($23 billion) amid heightened market volatility, with KOSPI triggering circuit breakers over half of its historical instances in the first six months of 2026.
