South Korea Establishes Semiconductor Power Supply Consortium with Samsung and SK Hynix on July 16

According to the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment on July 16, South Korea established a working consortium with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to discuss power supply infrastructure for the Honam semiconductor industrial complex. The government, Jeollanam-do Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Korea Electric Power Corporation outlined a preliminary power supply plan targeting completion of the first phase transmission line by end-2029 to support the industrial park's 2030 operations. The consortium will coordinate with relevant agencies and companies on timely power grid construction.
