According to Shanghai Consumer Protection Commission's report released on July 7, complaints about shared rental services surged to 4,705 in the first half of 2026, up 65.8% year-over-year. The complaints primarily involved shared bikes and shared power banks, with consumers reporting inaccurate billing, device malfunctions, slow service response, and unclear pricing rules. The commission noted that while overall consumer complaints declined this year, emerging sectors including AI-related services also saw notable complaint increases.
