Seoul Court Accepts Defendant's Appeal in DI Dongil Stock Price Manipulation Case

According to Yonhap Infomax, the Seoul Southern District Court accepted a defendant's appeal on July 24 in the DI Dongil stock price manipulation case, one of the first major cases pursued by South Korea's financial regulatory task force. The court ruled to exclude evidence collected by the joint response team, citing concerns that Financial Supervisory Service employees without enforcement authority were involved in evidence collection and that seized materials were not returned within the required timeframe, potentially undermining the defendant's right to defense. South Korea's Financial Services Commission plans to proceed with a further appeal following receipt of the court's decision.
