Semiconductor Storage Index Falls 16.7% This Week; Nasdaq 100 Down 1.5%

This week, U.S. semiconductor storage stocks saw sharp declines, with the sector index falling 16.7%. SanDisk dropped 27.3%, Western Digital fell 17.6%, and Micron declined 11.8%.

Broader U.S. equity indices also retreated. The S&P 500 fell approximately 1%, the Nasdaq 100 Index fell 1.5%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 9.5%. Among major components, Intuitive Surgical fell 13.8%, Synopsys dropped 8%, Netflix fell 6.9%, and Applied Materials declined over 5%. Energy stocks showed relative strength, with Diamondback Energy up 2.9% and Nebius Group up 3%.
