Saudi Arabia Strikes Sanaa Airport to Block Iranian Flight on July 13; Houthi Declares Full Mobilization

According to Reuters, on July 13, Saudi Arabia conducted strikes on Sanaa airport to prevent an Iranian civilian aircraft from landing, marking the first publicly announced direct Iranian flight to the city in nearly a decade. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated the strikes signal the end of a previous de-escalation phase and warned Saudi Arabia would face consequences.

The Houthis subsequently announced full mobilization and warned they may target Saudi airports and strategic facilities if subjected to further military strikes. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed the operation. The incident raises concerns about the fragility of the ceasefire maintained since 2022 and potential risks to Red Sea shipping.
