Samsung Electronics Chief Lee Jae-yong's Stock Assets Rise 28.2 Trillion Won in Q2; SK's Chey Tae-won Surges 176%

According to Korean CXO Research Institute's second-quarter survey released July 14, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's stock valuations surged 28.2 trillion won (up 91.3%) between March 31 and June 30, reaching 59.1 trillion won. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won posted a 176.9% gain, entering the 10-trillion-won club for the first time with stock assets of 10.8 trillion won. The survey covered 46 major conglomerate chairs with over 100 billion won in stock holdings as of end-June. Combined stock valuations for all 46 executives grew 28% to 133.6 trillion won, though excluding Lee and Chey, assets declined 8.6%.
