Samsung Biologics' Q2 Earnings Targets on Track Despite Labor Dispute; Q3 Costs Delayed

According to Yonhapinfomax reporting on July 13, Samsung Biologics is expected to delay the recognition of labor dispute-related costs to the third quarter, as management and labor unions remain at an impasse. The company's second-quarter earnings targets are set to be met, with consensus estimates from three major domestic brokers projecting revenue of approximately 1.31 trillion Korean won and operating profit of 588.4 billion won, representing year-on-year growth of 29.05% and 23.39% respectively.

However, third-quarter results face headwinds. The company estimates approximately 150 billion won in revenue losses stemming from strikes and production disruptions, costs expected to be reflected in Q3 accounting. Several brokers have adjusted downward their target stock prices, citing prolonged labor friction and anticipated cost increases for the remainder of the year. New order acquisitions have become critical to offsetting second-half earnings pressure, with major new contracts signed only once so far in 2026.
