Samsung and SK Hynix Single-Stock Leverage ETFs Plunge 18-21% on July 7, Fall Below IPO Price

According to data from the Korea Exchange and Koscom, single-stock leveraged ETFs tracking Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix crashed on July 7, with all 14 products falling sharply below their 20,000-won listing price. Samsung Electronics-linked products dropped 18-19%, while SK Hynix-linked products fell 20-21% as the underlying stocks declined about 10%. KODEX Samsung single-stock leverage fell 18.87%, with TIGER products down 19.32%. SK Hynix leverage ETFs recorded even steeper declines, dropping 21.08% and 21.39% respectively. The combined net asset value of the 16 leveraged products (including inverse variants) declined 15.3% to 14.9 trillion won from 17.6 trillion won on June 25.
