Russian Forces Dropping Booby-Trapped Wet Wipes, Power Banks in Kherson

According to Hope For Ukraine, Russian forces have been dropping explosive-filled wet wipe packs and power banks via drones across Kherson over recent days as of July 17. The charity group accused the Kremlin of deliberately targeting civilians and children, who risk picking up the everyday objects by mistake. Yuriy Boyechko, CEO of Hope For Ukraine, told media that the tactic represents an evolution in Russian terror, with troops shifting from easily recognizable anti-personnel mines to explosives hidden inside household goods after locals learned to spot uncamouflaged devices. Local authorities issued urgent safety warnings; Yaroslav Shanko, Head of Kherson City Military Administration, urged parents to warn children against picking up items found on streets, calling the strategy "cynical" psychological warfare against civilians.
