Philippines Use AI to Combat Work Burnout, Singapore Leads in AI Adoption for Knowledge Work

Google released its 2026 Southeast Asia Gemini report showing that professionals in the region use AI-powered prompts 30% more frequently on Mondays than other weekdays, with AI deeply integrated into workplace routines. Philippines, home to a large business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, sees customer service-related prompt usage three times higher than the regional average, with AI serving as a "burnout barrier" to alleviate communication stress and repetitive document work. Philippines is also the only market in the region where female users exceed male users, particularly for writing and job-seeking needs.

Singapore leads globally in per-capita Gemini usage, with 60% of prompts originating from desktop devices. Users average nearly 10 daily interactions, primarily for code debugging, data cleaning, presentation summaries, and in-depth research.
