McKinsey Study: AI Adoption Among Employees Surges to 76% in 2025, Entry-Level Roles Shrink

According to McKinsey research, 76% of employees in 2025 were using AI to assist their work, surging from just 30% in 2023. The technology is fundamentally reshaping the workplace, though with mixed career implications.

The study found that 51% of organizations reported generative AI reduced their demand for entry-level positions. Meanwhile, short-tenure employees showed declining turnover intentions: those with less than one year at companies fell from 37% in 2023 to 32% in 2025. In a counterintuitive finding, AI power users and creators—who report the highest job satisfaction—showed 7% higher departure likelihood compared to light users and 10% higher than non-AI users over the next 3-6 months.
