Iranian Lawmaker Seeks $1 Trillion Compensation from U.S., Claims War Could Last Years

According to an interview published by Russia Today on July 12, Iranian parliamentary national security and foreign policy committee member Abolfazl Zohrevand stated that Iran is prepared for both war and peace and called on the U.S. to acknowledge its "strategic mistakes." Zohrevand said Iran will demand $1 trillion in compensation from the U.S. across "current and future generations," citing Trump's previous claim that the U.S. inflicted $1 trillion in losses on Iran. He warned that the conflict could not be resolved in the short term.
