Iran Launches New Maritime Traffic Management System for Strait of Hormuz on May 5

According to Iran’s official statement on May 5, Iran has launched a new maritime traffic management system for the Strait of Hormuz. Under the new mechanism, all vessels planning to transit the strait will receive traffic rules and regulations through an official email channel. Vessels are required to adjust their navigation operations according to this framework and obtain transit permission before passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
