Intel Invests €5 Billion in Ireland Semiconductor Facility for AI Chip Production

According to Yonhap Infomax, Intel announced on July 13 that it will invest 5 billion euros (approximately 8.5 trillion Korean won) in its Leixlip campus in Ireland to expand processor production for AI systems. The investment aims to increase existing production capacity, advance research and development activities, and strengthen the European semiconductor supply chain by utilizing existing cleanroom facilities. The move follows surging demand for AI data center chips, prompting semiconductor companies to expand production capabilities.
