Hong Kong to Launch AI Subsidy Program for SMEs; Shalei Data Center to Provide 18M PFlops by 2032

According to Xinhua News Agency, on July 19, Hong Kong's government announced plans to roll out an optimized version of its Digital Transformation Support Pilot Program this year, offering subsidies to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to adopt ready-made AI solutions and accelerate digital transformation. Financial Secretary Chen Maobo highlighted that the Shalei Data Center, once operational, is expected to provide approximately 18 million PFlops of computing power by 2032—equivalent to 36 times Hong Kong's current total computing capacity.
