Hong Kong SFC Appoints Zhou Fuan as Investor Education Committee Chair, Effective Aug 1

According to Smart Finance, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission announced that Zhou Fuan, non-executive director of the SFC, has been appointed chairman of the Investor and Financial Education Council, effective from August 1, 2026. Zhou will replace Du Qankun, whose term ends on July 31, 2026. The council is a subsidiary body of the SFC, with the chairman position appointed by the commission.

The council also announced that Liu Huijuan has been appointed as a director of the council for a three-year term, effective from June 29, 2026. Liu is currently assistant president (institutional development and operations) of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
