Germany's AfD Surges to 27% Support on Iran War Criticism, Overtakes Merkel's CDU

According to a Financial Times poll tracking, Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party saw support surge from 25% to 27% since March, overtaking the ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU). The rise followed AfD's vocal criticism of the Trump administration's military strikes on Iran. AfD co-chair Tino Chrupalla expressed being "extremely disappointed" over the potential for a "third world war," while fellow leader Alice Weidel called the Iran conflict "reckless" and "lacking concept."
