Critini Analyst Critiques South Korea's AI Development, Says Startups and Research 'Overvalued'

According to Critini Research analyst Jukan, who spoke after attending ICML, South Korea's AI startups and university research have been significantly overvalued. Jukan stated that South Korea is "pretending to develop AI seriously" and that its efforts are "almost nothing" compared to China. He recommended that South Korea adopt talent recruitment policies similar to China's "Thousand Talents Plan" to attract overseas Korean researchers and recruit foreign AI talent, warning that without such measures, the country risks becoming dependent on foreign AI technology.
