Consensys Granted Developer With North Korea Affiliation One Month of System Access Earlier This Year

According to Cointelegraph, Consensys inadvertently granted system access to a software developer affiliated with North Korea earlier this year through a third-party service provider. The developer, operating under the alias Tyler Knapp, maintained access for approximately one month before the security threat was identified. Consensys General Counsel Matt Corva confirmed the developer was a consultant, not an employee. The company immediately revoked access and conducted a comprehensive investigation, finding no stolen assets, no malicious code deployment, and no impact to user security. Consensys stated it will reassess its engineering and development outsourcing practices.
