China Begins Producing Domestic DUV Lithography Machines; Memory Chipmakers Plunge on Monday

According to The Information and other reports, China began producing domestically developed immersion DUV (deep ultraviolet) lithography machines on Monday (July 27), with plans to manufacture 5 units this year and ramp up to 20 units in 2027. The news triggered sharp declines in global memory chipmakers: Micron (MU-US) fell 2.25%, SK Hynix ADR (SKHY-US) dropped 7.47%, and memory card maker SanDisk (SNDK-US) plunged 11.02%, making it the worst performer on the S&P 500 that day. According to LSEG data, Chinese memory manufacturer Changxin Storage (CXMT) made its market debut the same day with a market cap of approximately $484 billion, surging 466% on its first trading day and becoming China's highest-valued listed company.
