Canada's PM Announces Gordie Howe Bridge Opening This Weekend Despite U.S. Threat

According to CBC and ABC, Canadian Prime Minister Kani announced on June 9 that the Gordie Howe International Bridge, connecting Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan, will open this weekend. U.S. President Trump had threatened in February to block the bridge's completion and demanded that the U.S. hold at least 50% ownership. When asked about the announcement, a White House official stated that the U.S. position remains unchanged.
