Bolivia's Economy Minister Announces USDT Integration Study to Address Currency Crisis

According to Bolivia's Economy Minister Jose Gabriel Espinoza, on Friday the government announced it was studying the integration of USDT into the country's financial system to address a foreign currency shortage. Espinoza stated that while the Central Bank lifted its ban on crypto operations in June 2024, Bolivia currently lacks a regulatory framework for immediate implementation. He noted a system in which USDT circulates alongside the U.S. dollar and Bolivian boliviano is under consideration, pending compliance with international standards.
