Base Meme Coin BRIAN Crashes 86% in 24 Hours After Coinbase CEO Changes X Avatar

According to The Defiant, Base chain meme coin BRIAN has plunged approximately 86% over the past 24 hours, with its market cap dropping to around $1.5 million. The decline followed Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's decision to change his X profile avatar. Armstrong had switched his avatar to the "Coinbase Man" image associated with BRIAN on July 16, captioning the change with "New profile photo - who dis." The market initially interpreted the move as a sign of support for the token, driving significant gains. However, Armstrong later changed his avatar again to a newly purchased CryptoPunk, triggering the sharp selloff. BRIAN is a community-created token with no official affiliation to Armstrong.
